Dark Moon Earrings

Dark Moon Earrings with Black Moonstone, Labradorite & Black Obsidian by Hummingbird Jewellery
 
I've created these darkly feminine earrings to honour the cycle of the Dark Moon. The Dark Moon occurs every month, right at the end of the moon's cycle when it's so small there is very little light reflected from it. The Dark Moon is a most magickal time as we complete the end of one lunar cycle and sow visionary seeds for the coming New Moon. 
 
I have used Black Moonstone, Labradorite and Black Obsidian Crystal beads as they each offer a valuable quality to work with and enhance the power of this time. A matching pair of delicate crescent moon charms hang from the crystal beads. These charms have been lightly hammered and coated with light reflecting Rhodium which emit a beautiful, silvery shimmer.

The earrings measure 6cm from the top of the ear wire to the tip of the crescent moons, and are hung on Surgical Stainless Steel ear wires which are suitable for sensitive ears.

*A Word About Gift Wrapping*
 
I carefully gift wrap each order before I send it out. Each piece of jewellery is first placed into a natural jute bag or recycled card gift box containing a personalised hand written small note addressed to the recipient. This I then wrap in tissue paper, tied together with a pretty ribbon or cord, and will often include a sprig of dried flowers or a small piece of West Cork Sea Glass.
